Grouse Mountain offers a picnic with a heck of a view

What’s better than a picnic on a sunny, summer day? A picnic on a sunny, summer day – on top of a mountain!

For over 25 years, Grouse Mountain has been hosting a day of food, fun and games for hundreds of children with extra needs.

The annual event is organized by Variety at Work, a volunteer committee made up of members of Variety – the Children’s Charity of BC. The committee also organizes other fun events for Variety’s children throughout the year, including the Picnic in the Park in Burnaby in early June, and the Variety Kids Christmas Party every December at the Vancouver Hellenic Centre.

This year’s picnic on Grouse Mountain goes from 9am – 2pm on July 12. With 300 kids expected to attend, it will be another year of the best kind of chaos, and an unforgettable day for families to spend some quality time together.

Huge thanks to Coast Mountain Bus Company for sponsoring transportation on the day, and of course Grouse Mountain, who have been making this event possible for families for decades!
