Gold Heart Day

The Gold Heart Fundraising Program is an annual campaign that was started by Variety – The Children’s Charity of Great Britain on Valentine’s Day 1991. It has since spread around the world. The symbol of Gold Heart Day is a small gold-coloured heart-shaped pin and is a powerful symbol of caring and support for children who have special needs. Every Gold Heart you buy helps Variety - The Children’s Charity help kids in the province who have special needs. Since its inception, the Gold Heart Program has raised millions of dollars in Canada and over $100 million worldwide.

For the 2012 Gold Heart campaign, Variety has partnered with 20th Century Fox to feature R2D2 and C3PO of Star Wars.
