Mihai has spastic diplegia cerebral palsy. Variety helped brighten Mihai's days and strengthen his muscles by funding a specialized tricycle.
Mihai Covaser
Mihai is six years old.He loves reading, doing puzzles and playing computer games. He is outgoing, very social and loves meeting new people. His favourite cartoon character is “Dash” the little boy from The Incredibles, who can run like the wind.
Mihai also has spastic diplegia cerebral palsy. He has poor balance and difficulty walking. He uses a cane and a walker for short distances but for longer trips he had to be pushed in a special stroller. An energetic and independent boy who loves to play with other kids, this was hard for Mihai. He got frustrated when he couldn’t physically keep up with them.
Mihai’s parents want to create the best possible life for their son and give him every opportunity available, so they asked Variety for a specialized tricycle. This tricycle means the world to him – he is able to get outside, be independently mobile and have fun at the same time. The bike also has a therapeutic role because without active movement of his legs, Mihai risks losing range of motion in his hips, knees and ankles and of losing the strength that he does have in his legs.
