The Ridge Meadows Hospital Foundation asked for assistance from Variety - The Children's Charity for providing our maternity department with equipment to ensure the best in health care for newborns.
Over 800 babies were born at Ridge Meadows Hospital last year with that number expected to increase with three Obstetrician/Gynecologists, two Paediatricians, a Maternity Clinic for General Practitioners who care for pregnant women as well as a growing population of young families in the community. It is thanks to the generosity of organizations like Variety - The Children's Charity that we are able to provide state of the art care to our tiniest patients.
Most recently Variety - The Children's Charity funded an infant warmer/resuscitator for one of our operating rooms. This table is completely equipped with the resuscitation and investigative tools needed to examine the newborn. The warmer/resuscitator is a vital technical device used to examine babies after delivery. It is critical to the safe delivery that each labour/delivery room is equipped with a problem free, top-notch unit. Without this very important tool, the paediatrician may miss early signs of stress and distress. This could mean a lifetime of health problems resulting from the trauma of a complicated birth.
On behalf of our board of directors, staff and patients, we extend a heartfelt thanks to Variety - The Children's Charity for their committment to providing support to Ridge Meadows Hospital Foundation.
