Miss World Canada is a pageant with a purpose, combining traditional elements with an emphasis on fundraising. The delegates are judged for poise, confidence, interview skills, talent and 10% of their mark comes from their fundraising successes.
The 2011 Pageant took place May 19th at the River Rock Show Theatre in Richmond, and a broadcast of the event will air on CHEK TV at 2:00pm on November 5th, 2011. Riza Santos of Calgary, Alberta was crowned Miss World Canada 2011 and will be competing in the Miss World pageant, which will air live on November 6th on E! Entertainment channel. The first runner-up was Poonam Punni of Surrey, BC. Over $50,000 was raised for Variety - The Children's Charity! Congratulations to everyone involved!
