Kalel Rizzuto Marchese

Four year old Kalel has spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy. He was born 12 weeks premature and weighed only 980 grams. His parents gave him the name Kalel, which means "Super Little Man" because he is a true fighter and fought hard to survive. He cannot sit, stand or walk and requires assistance in every aspect of his life but he is a bright, curious little boy who loves Elmo and Sesame Street and has an infectious laugh and smile. Variety provided partial funding for a Kid Walk Dynamic Mobility system for Kalel. It was a thrilling moment for him when he realized that the Kid Walker gave him the ability to stand up and move. The walker has opened up a whole new world for Kalel, giving him increased independence and will allow him to maintain his joint range, preventing dislocations and respiratory infections.
