Variety Cares Community
Caring for a child with special needs isn’t something parents prepare for. Members of the Variety Cares Community help ensure we are there every single day when families need us. This is the easiest and most effective way to provide a steady, reliable source of support to make a difference to BC’s kids.
“Becoming a monthly donor was a perfect option for us as it was simple and affordable. It was a way for us to help children with special needs all year long!”
– Joanne Stanely, Monthly Donor
Planned giving is a powerful act of kindness that will ensure Variety will be able to continue to support children with special needs.
As a team we can do more
Not only is supporting Variety a great way to give back to children who have special needs but it’s a perfect way to enhance your company’s social profile province-wide. Variety has the privilege of being partnered with some amazing companies such as Global BC, Pharmasave, Purdys and Buy-Low Foods (just to name a few). These brands, and many others, have been working with us for many years with the common goal of providing help and hope to children in need.
Make a Donation
Sounds simple right? But it’s more than a simple donation. Variety relies on the funds we collect from individuals and businesses alike to continue to provide help and hope to children who have special needs all across BC. With over 1500 individual grant requests in a year, there is always a need to be met and it’s growing year to year.
With many major fundraising events happening annually including; our Show of Hearts Telethon, Boat for Hope, and our Variety Children’s Radiothons, there are many opportunities for your business to get involved as an event sponsor. Whether you participate as title sponsor or partial sponsor, there are many ways to contribute and partner with an event that fits your brand.
Partial Proceeds Program
Variety believes that strong partnerships provide strong results. Utilizing your business’ consumer capital is a great way to give back and empower your clientele to participate in the process. Whether you’re promoting a product, service or both, Variety will work with you to develop a partial proceeds program that is unique and effective.

The Champions Circle honours some of Variety BC’s most philanthropic donors both past and future, and supports Variety’s work throughout the year.
Champions Circle members are asked to make a $50,000 gift to help ensure that Variety can be there when a family needs us the most. Every grant they receive is a reminder that our donors are with them every step of the way.
Members of the Champions Circle are recognized throughout the year as very special members of the Variety family. Should you become a member, you will be helping hundreds of families and children, as well as inspiring other long-time supporters to join as well.

Variety Mobility Program
Variety’s Sunshine Coaches and Family Vans allow children that have special needs the ability to get out and participate in the community.
Sunshine Family Vans
The freedom of mobility is often taken for granted, but families that have children with wheelchairs struggle daily with getting to and from the places they need to go. Sunshine Family Vans allow families to travel together in safety and comfort to doctors’ appointments, school and outings in their communities.
For community organizations, Sunshine Coaches make possible more access to life-enriching education and experiences. These vehicles are tailored to the needs of the recipient with the emphasis on safety and comfort. Our coaches range in size from 12 – 24 seats, with special equipment and hydraulic lifts for wheelchairs. One of Variety’s most cherished and enduring programs, there have been almost 600 Sunshine Coaches to hit the road in all corners of the province.
donate a minimum of just $1047 and you will receive name recognition on a vehicle along with other Sunshine Coach donors. Or make a corporate donation to cover the cost of an entire vehicle and have your company name and logo on the coach you funded.
