Fighting COVID Together

We are excited to be a part of Fighting COVID Together … an online charity auction event happening on Saturday, May 23 at 7:00 pm.

This unique event brings six charities together for one night united for one cause … to spread the word about what charities are up against during the COVID-19 crisis.

Fighting COVID Together will be an upbeat and fast-paced online auction helping local charities who need support right now. The format is simple and is based on Able Auctions’ proven track record in industrial auctioneering. Hosted by Howard Blank, the virtual event will consist of a live audio auction where guests will be able to bid in real time on items upon viewing photos and descriptions.

We hope you’ll be able to join us for this one-of-a-kind fundraising event while helping to raise money for Variety and BC’s kids with special needs.

Event Details:

 What: A live online auction in support of six BC charities. Each charity is donating Gala auction-style items followed by a “Fund-a-Need” Buy-Now option for a tax receiptable monetary donation.
Where: Online! Register for free as a bidder through by 4:00 pm on Friday, May 22 in order to bid for the live auction. It takes 24 hours to register and get approved by the Able Auctions team.
When: Saturday, May 23 at 7:00 pm. Variety is the fifth charity on the schedule and will take place live at approximately 7:45 pm.
Participating Charities: Variety – the Children’s Charity of BC, Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre, Dr. Peter AIDS Foundation, Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation, Sources Foundation and VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation.

Creating Your Account

Step 1: Fill out information on the Able Auctions registration form.
Step 2: Wait for confirmation email from Able Auctions.
Step 3: Confirm email address by clicking the link in your confirmation email.
Step 4: Go to, click on the Auctions tab and scroll down to find Fighting COVID Together.

Get your account verified and approved before you can bid minimum 24 hours before the auction by 4:00 pm on Friday, May 22.

Step 5: Click Sign Up for Online Bidding” and log in to your account or “Get Approved to Bid” if you are logged into your account already.

Make sure to have your log-in details on hand.

Step 6: Fill out the “Approval to Participate” form. Add your credit card details, read the “User Agreement” & “Privacy and Terms & Conditions”. Press the “Confirm Your Information” button.

Add your cell phone number to receive text alerts
and a link that will automatically log you in.

Step 7: Upon receiving your confirmation email you are all set!
Step 8: Head to at 7:00 pm on Saturday, May 23 to bid live
