In 2019, Leonard made a firm commitment to support Variety monthly. It was his very special and long-time friend Frank who inspired him to support BC’s kids with special needs. Frank never learned to speak and for his whole life, he relied on body language to communicate. Christmas was always a very special time to Frank because he was able to bring happiness to others, without having to say a word.
For 35 years, Leonard & Frank worked together at the Kelowna Community Center for people with special needs. Leonard understands the challenges individuals like Frank face in their day-to-day lives … especially because Frank’s life could’ve been so different if only he had had access to speech & language therapy when he was a child. So when Leonard learned about Variety and the work we do to help kids across this province, he decided to join the Variety Cares Community – a group of caring and dedicated individuals who transform the lives of BC’s kids every single day.
