Leave a gift in your will.
Transforming young lives can be your legacy. And it starts with a conversation.
Transform young lives in BC for years to come.
One of the most powerful ways to impact children in your community can happen with a little planning. Variety will work closely with you to create a legacy you can be proud of, that will help kids with disabilities and complex health needs for years to come. Here are some of your options:
- Leave a gift in your will
- Donate your life insurance
- Name “Variety – the Children’s Charity of BC” as a beneficiary on your investments
- Set up a donor-advised fund
- Donate a gift of assets
Make Variety a part of your estate planning
Donate your life insurance.
Donated life insurance policies aren’t subject to taxes, probate costs, or estate debts, but you still receive charitable tax receipts.
You have the option to take out a new policy in the name of Variety, name Variety as beneficiary of an existing policy, or transfer ownership of an existing policy to Variety.
Donate financial assets.
Naming “Variety – the Children’s Charity of BC” as a beneficiary of your RRSP, RRIF, or pension, can offset the taxes that your estate would otherwise pay on these assets.
Discuss this option with your financial advisor or lawyer to find out if it’s right for you.
Set up a donor-advised fund.
This option allows you to donate a lump sum now that can be distributed over the course of several years.
When you make a donation using this type of fund, you receive a tax receipt and can then allocate the funds to Canadian registered charities of your choice.
