For over 60 years, Variety – the Children’s Charity of BC has been transforming the lives of children & youth in BC with disabilities and complex health needs, guided by our five support programs.
With our generous community of donors, kids in over 280 BC communities are able to reach their unique potential and thrive.

Our History
Our British Columbia chapter was established in 1966, focusing on empowering children with disabilities and complex health needs. This stems from a larger global movement born nearly a century ago.
In 1927, the original Variety was formed by 11 caring individuals working in the entertainment industry. This group discovered an abandoned infant in one of their theatres and banded together to raise her. This alliance grew into an organization that now includes chapters throughout the world.
