Daemon from Kamloops was diagnosed with a speech sound disorder at the age of 2. He has a hard time pronouncing the sounds of certain letters and gets frustrated when people can’t understand what he is saying. He will often use his mom, Rebecca as a “translator” as she’s usually the only one who can make out what he’s saying. It’s been heartbreaking for Rebecca to see her shy & nervous 6-year-old son struggling. That’s when Variety stepped in and provided Daemon with Speech & Language Therapy. Since that time, Rebecca has confirmed there’s been significant improvement in both Daemon’s communication and his self-confidence.
