Catch family stories and interviews on Global BC during Variety Week

Learn more about how Variety fills crucial healthcare gaps

Hundreds of children across BC are waiting for access to critical supports. They’re missing therapies, equipment and interventions they can’t afford to delay. Their lives shouldn’t be put on pause.

With your help, we can change that story. Thanks to dedicated support from our Variety community, we’re able to help more BC kids thrive and discover their potential.

What’s happening this Variety Week?

From October 20-26, tune in to Global BC to meet BC children and youth and find interviews with families and healthcare professionals on how Variety funding fills crucial healthcare gaps. Stories and interviews will air each day on Global BC’s morning news (beginning weekday mornings at 5 a.m.) and the 6 p.m. news hour.

You can also follow us on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, or Bluesky to get the latest stories. You’ll learn not just what we do, but who it impacts—families like yours or your neighbour’s.

How you can get involved

  1. Spread the word! Go follow our social channels, like and share our posts. Tell your friends and family about Variety. Start conversations about increasing supports for kids with disabilities and complex health needs.
  2. Donate. No matter the size of your gift, every donation directly helps one more child focus on enjoying their childhood without the limitations that lack of access can so often create.
  3. Watch family stories and interviews on Global BC to learn more about why these supports matter and how they can change lives.

Statistics are more than numbers. They represent the lives of real kids whose current and future wellbeing is impacted by not being able to access the best care.

We often say that every child deserves to explore their potential and receive the supports they need to thrive. But it takes a community to turn that vision into a reality. If you’re a Variety donor, know that your support funds life-changing interventions and shows families that they aren’t alone. Thank you for showing up for them.
