Your project promotes inclusivity and supports students with special educational needs.
Your school administration and/or district has given you consent for this project.
Your school or district has a fundraising plan to raise 50% of the total project cost.
You’ve secured formal quote(s) from Canadian companies (including all applicable taxes & associated shipping taxes) which are valid for at least 60 days AND your vendor quotes reflect “Bill to” Variety the Children’s Charity of BC and “Ship to” your school or district.
Your school or district will be able to implement this project within the current school year.

(Please help us keep this program manageable and equitable. Variety BC requests that you select a vendor best suited to meet your equipment needs and refrain from submitting quotes from multiple vendors for equipment which a single vendor could provide. Multiple vendors will be accepted ONLY if they provide different types of equipment that another already submitted cannot provide.)

Variety matches up to $10,000 per school, per school year. Your requested funding must not exceed this amount.

Variety the Children’s Charity of British Columbia respects and upholds an individual’s right to privacy. Your school/district and its student’s information as submitted with this application will be maintained as a confidential and secure record.

If deemed necessary by Variety for the purpose of determining eligibility for funding or for the purpose of meeting your inclusive upgrade needs, by electronically signing and submitting this form, you give consent to Variety to share file information with potential partnership funders.

PLEASE ENSURE YOUR APPLICATION IS COMPLETE WITH ALL SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS BEFORE SUBMITTING.

We regret that applications with missing/incomplete information or documents will not be considered. Variety is unable to fund projects sourced from vendors outside of Canada and does not fund equipment sourced from hypermarket, e-commerce, outlet or discount stores. In addition, Variety is unable to pay for any items you obtain prior to approval.

Please review the following CONDITIONS and REQUIREMENTS carefully:

In the event that your application is successful, Variety BC requires your school and/or district to:

1. Release Variety – the Children’s Charity of BC of liability if accidental harm or injury occurs on/with your equipment.
2. Work directly with your vendor(s) to guarantee all necessary construction is completed to code and abides by the applicable building permits, including those required by your district.
3. Implement this inclusive school upgrade within the same school year funding is approved.
4. Submit a Variety Schools Grant Program evaluation form once the project has been implemented and fulfil the requirements set out in your customized recognition agreement.
5. Maintain the project, keeping it in good condition and conducting regular safety inspections.
6. Mandate that any specialized medical supplies and/or specialized and therapeutic equipment (if applicable) be administered by trained and qualified professionals and youth are strictly supervised.
