Variety Schools Grant Application Form

Confirm your school or district meets the following criteria:

Do you meet the following criteria:

  • Your project promotes inclusivity and supports students with special educational needs.
  • Your school administration and/or district has given you consent for this project.
  • Your school or district has a fundraising plan to raise 50% of the total project cost.
  • You’ve secured formal quote(s) from Canadian companies (including all applicable taxes & associated shipping taxes) which are valid for at least 60 days AND your vendor quotes reflect “Bill to” Variety the Children’s Charity of BC and “Ship to” your school or district.
  • Your school or district will be able to implement this project within the current school year.


Ensure you have the following supporting documents ready to submit:

  • Vendor quote(s) – ONE per vendor/equipment type
    (Please help us keep this program manageable and equitable. Variety BC requests that you select a vendor best suited to meet your equipment needs and refrain from submitting quotes from multiple vendors for equipment which a single vendor could provide. Multiple vendors will be accepted ONLY if they provide different types of equipment that another already submitted cannot provide.)
  • Fundraising plan (including your timeline and disclosing all additional funders and/or sources of revenue your school or district may be using to fund this project)
  • (Optional) Letters of reference from parents/staff sharing the need for this inclusive upgrade

Do you meet the following criteria:

  1. Child seeking help is between birth and their 19th birthday. (Note: for autism assessment, the child seeking help must be 4 years or under.)
  2. B.C. or Yukon resident for a minimum of three months with a valid Health Care Card.
  3. Qualified special need (medical/developmental) as recognized by a designated professional. (This does not apply to private autism and psychoeducational assessments or mental wellness requests)
  4. Financial circumstance that limits the ability to afford the item or service required (Variety is currently able to consider requests from households with an annual income of up to $85,000).
