About Variety Week

We’re excited to announce that this year’s Variety Week has raised a total of $2,148,793 to help BC’s kids with special needs.

“The outpouring of support from British Columbians is nothing short ofamazing,” said Cally Wesson, Variety BC CEO. “The past eighteen months have been difficult for families across the province and their generous support takes away from the financial burden and ensures kids have the essential therapies, counselling and equipment they need to thrive. And for that, we couldn’t be more thankful.”

“Global BC is overwhelmed by the response and the role we can play to help BC’s kids,” said Bhupinder Hundal, News Director & Station Manager, Global BC. “We are grateful to our viewers for their incredible generosity. Because of their donations, families across our province will receive the support they deserve.”

Throughout the week’s Global BC newscasts, viewers met children supported by Variety and were able to see firsthand how their lives have been impacted. Additionally Variety presented a Sunshine Family Van in each of their health regions each day on Global News Morning.
