Ainsley is a cheerful 9-year-old girl from Burnaby who was born with Down Syndrome. She has developmental delays in speech and gross motor skills. Because of her low muscle tone, she was only able to walk short distances. Variety has provided Ainsley with both speech therapy to help her communicate and physiotherapy to help with her muscle development so she can move freely and actively play with her friends. Ainsley also has learning challenges so thanks to Variety’s donors, she’s been receiving one-on-one tutoring sessions at the Down Syndrome Research Foundation to improve her reading skills.
