Alex was adopted to a loving family after being born to a mother who struggled with addiction. Throughout childhood, Alex was diagnosed with several conditions including ADHD, dyspraxia, epilepsy & FASD. Once the 14-year-old from Burnaby was old enough to be aware that they were different, school became increasingly difficult. Recently Variety stepped in and provided Alex with a tuition bursary to Whytecliff Agile Learning Centre in Burnaby where they can learn at their own speed. Now Alex has a safe space for educational and social growth!
