The Journey of Your Donation
At Variety BC, every dollar raised goes towards transforming the lives of kids with special needs and keeping Variety BC running. In addition to providing support to kids and their families, we support hospitals that adminster emergency care across BC and provide transportation to organizations who support kids with special needs.
Here’s a glimpse into our granting process:
Grant Budget
We determine our child grant budget at the beginning of our financial year in October. Once the budget is set, families can apply for Variety support year-round. Our grants fund mobility & medical equipment, specialized therapies, private assessments, education support, and mental wellness counselling.
Donations
Our supporters generously donate throughout the year.
Application Review
Our granting team approves applications, allocating our budget based on established funding criteria.
Funds Distribution
Once they’ve received a grant, families can choose vendors or service providers who will work with their child. Vendors bill Variety directly.
Ongoing Support
In October, we start the process all over again, ensuring that we’re providing ongoing support to kids with special needs.
