Private Assessment
Carolyn
Carolyn is a 3-year-old girl from Tsawwassen who was diagnosed with global developmental delay including delayed speech & language development and repetitive hand flapping. After her mom noticed Carolyn wasn’t responding to her name, she reached out to Variety who provided her with a private autism assessment.
“Without Variety’s support, we wouldn’t have been able to get Carolyn the help she needs,” shares Carolyn’s mom, Allison. “Because Carolyn was diagnosed with autism before she turned 2, she’s been receiving occupational therapy & speech therapy while she’s still young.”
Most recently, Carolyn received custom orthotics from Variety to better control her feet after undergoing surgical intervention for her bilateral club foot. The AFO’s have helped correct her malalignments while distributing pressure more evenly across her feet.
“We are so grateful to Variety and their incredible donors for being there for my daughter not just once but twice. Thank you for your generosity!” adds Allison.
